This week on the podcast we have Jolie Crowder, RN, MSN, PhD. She is a National Elder Health Consultant for IHS (Indian Health Services)!
Part of the mission of the organization Jolie works for is “to raise the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level”. Jolie’s work specifically focuses on Alzheimer’s and dementia education in the elder population of American Indians and Alaska Natives.
Jolie takes us through her nursing journey, her discovery of this patient population. She also gives advice for nurses who want to work for the federal government: where to go, how long positions stay open, possible requirements, etc. She says IHS is always hiring nurses!
Be sure and listen to this episode and share with others who might be interested in learning more!
